Speaking at Public History Grad Con 2024

Bethany is excited to be the keynote speaker at this year’s Public History Grad Con at the University of York. This year’s theme is History Makers for the Future. The conference is geared toward postgrad students and early career researchers and Bethany will speak about her experience starting Experience Heritage and working in the heritage sector using digital technologies to help tell her clients’ stories.

The conference takes place on Friday, September 13 from 9:30am -8pm BST at the Berrick Saul Building at the University of York campus. Tickets are fee and available here.

Bethany speaking at Museums + Heritage Show 2024

This May, Bethany will be speaking at the Museums + Heritage Show at Olympia London. Her talk, “Digital solutions for storytelling and placemaking” will look through case studies with Experience Heritage clients like the National Trust and the National Paralympic Heritage Trust and examine how 3D models, mobile apps, and immersive technologies bring cultural and heritage stories to life, providing accessibility to wider audiences. Her talk takes place on Thursday 16 May from 13:30-14:00 in theatre 4.

Experience Heritage exhibiting at Museums + Heritage Show 2024

We are excited to be exhibiting as part of the Museums + Heritage Show in Olympia London on 15-16 May this year. You’ll find us at stand A3. The Show is free, so come along and say hi! Bethany joins Re-Imaging Heritage Panel

Bethany will be joining the Re-imagining Heritage panel hosted by Four Wheel Drive theatre tomorrow (Saturday, Feb 17) at York's historic Guildhall. The panel will speak on immersive technologies and storytelling and how these can be used to bring heritage to life.

The panel is part of a wider event which also includes immersive experiences telling the story of Margaret Clitherow's life, trial, and death.

The free event starts at 12 with the panel beginning at 3:15.

On 6 November 2023, Bethany spoke about the work that Experience Heritage does for an audience of postgraduate students from the U of York’s School of Arts and Creative Technologies, as well as creative professionals from the area. The event took place at the historic York Guildhall and Bethany was joined by 3 other businesses speaking about the Creative and Cultural industries, including Bright White, Viridian FX, and York Creatives.

The event highlighted the skills needs in the sector, including Unity development, and touched on the sensitive topic of AI and how it will affect the industry.

Speaking at Women In Tech York

On Thursday, 14 September 2023, Bethany will be one of the speakers at the Women In Tech York event. This is a monthly networking event, open to all, which focuses on the experiences of women in the tech industry.

Bethany will be speaking about her experiences setting up Experience Heritage including the highs, lows and lessons learned.

Guest presenting for Step Into Tech U of York programme

On Wednesday, 06 Sept 2023, Bethany will be presenting her work as a guest to the Step Into Tech programme run by the University of York. Students on the programme take part to learn more about careers in the tech industry and have little to no experience prior. Throughout, they learn things like design, coding logic, user interface and data analysis.

Bethany will discuss her route into the tech world, what Experience Heritage does and how different projects utilise these skills.
